How The Program Works

Insert the CD into your computer. It should self-load, but if it doesn’t, follow the directions on the packet.

In the front of each chapter is a list of objectives that the CCB thinks is important.  Prometric writes the test questions from these objectives. Our program is based on the objectives and teaches you how to locate needed information in the reference manual.

Once you begin you will see a question appear on your screen.  Pick a key word from the question or answers. If you cannot determine a key word one will appear in 30 seconds. Go to the index and find the key word and page number where the information about that key word starts. The page number where the information starts will appear in 45 seconds.

Click the nail in front of the answer of your choice, you will be told if you are correct or incorrect. Either way you will be shown where the answer is located in the manual. You must answer the question correctly to move on.  Use the highlighter that comes with the program to highlight the correct answer in your manual for future reference. 

The amount of money you earn is shown on the screen. If you do not make enough money you will have to redo the lesson. When you have successfully completed the lesson you will see a completion code. Write it on the completion code card.

After every third chapter there is a timed Pop Quiz.  At the end of the program there is a Final Exam that simulates the State exam. It is an eighty questions open book test you have two hours to complete. All the lessons, quizzes and the final can be taken as many times as you like. You will get different questions each time. At the end of the quizzes and the final you will be shown a list of the questions answered incorrectly. The list will show the question, the correct answer and where to locate it.

Once you have completed the program and have all of the unique numbers listed on the completion code card, follow the directions on the back of the card.  When we receive your information we will enter it into the CCB database. Three days later you can call Prometric and schedule your state exam. Good Luck!
